Undefeated since 1826

Shirt design I made for my college a little while ago: Sports being something I genuinely missed in art school, I had this funny idea for a few years before I finally entered it into a school contest.  I guess whoever was judging thought it was funny too- You can now buy it at the MICA bookstore in charcoal gray or light blue, and in women's or men's sizes. I will get no money from that, but at least you get to wear my humor.

Lion doodle

Not much to say about this guy- I haven't made any digital sketches and I'm trying to get back into things.

Shore Sirens

New series, coming soon...

I'm not even really fond of mermaids.  So I'm going to draw them until I am.  Oh, and surprise, it's also about New Jersey.

Animal Series

Here is part of a new series I am creating, rather slowly, that includes animals symbolizing different virtues and vices, drawn in a stylized/heraldic style.

The Lion of August
Ok, I draw lions a lot, but this guy is... well he's my own personal character.  He is the lion of August, and I usually use him to symbolize my own inner virtues/ideals. His incredible courage and pride make him a formidable foe, but sometimes become his own hamartia. He has a fearsome voice and sharp peridot eyes that can see through false truths. His mane is as golden as his heart, but you may find there are two tails (and tales) to every lion of August, which are double edged and dangerous.

And to every August there is a September.

The Wolf of Truth:

The Wolf of Truth is one of the lion's most powerful allies, and seemingly balances his pride with cold reality.  However, what the wolf can turn into is the lion's greatest enemy, and greatest fear.

Wolf of the Autumnal

When the Shade of the Autumnal gets into the wolf of Truth (Haven't explained that yet, but let's just say, evil) He becomes this guy: The two-tongued shadow wolf that is the lion's greatest foe. One tongue is truth, and one tongue is spite... But you can never tell the diference.  And together with corruption he spits forever the venom of lies, doubt and regret.

Panthera Carboneum

Here is a series of the big cats in charcoal.  I am beginning with the four real (roaring) big cats of the world: The Tiger, Lion, Leopard and Jaguar.

Leo

Charcoal

Lions have long since been my favorite animal and subject for symbolism in art, but this guy is mostly a study.  I've been trying to find a good picture of a roaring lion as reference, since contrary to popular belief they do not open their mouths wide when roaring.  A good deal of those pictures are of lion yawns.  And while I suppose those are still impressive, it's not the emotion I want.  Here it is. Here is the real roar.

 Pardus

Dragons

These are some dragons based on a new series I am doing.  They are all part of a fantastical/epic story I wrote when I was 8 which I have been adding to ever since, and have recently created a sort of pseudo scientific genealogy of different dragons for.  There are still plenty more to come.

This is an Air dragon
This is a Terran dragon, a type of Earth dragon.
Here is a concept board and first draft finish of the main character, Saje.  She is the daughter of a chief of one of the Shadow dragon tribes, who have lived in the darkest part of the Southern jungles for ages since the great disaster.  Shadow dragons are also the only dragons that have venom in their blood, (according to myth, a manifestation of their spite and hatred of the rest of the word) so they are unaffected by their likewise venomous and lethal environment.

Panthera Leo vs. A Personal Fear

If you ever get the chance to follow my artwork, you will find two things: Sea monsters and lions. This one happens to have both.
